Ok stomping game heads, I have what you've been waiting for but first, some thoughts.

It really is a shame that DDR has gone down the tubes. I can't place the blame on any one specific person or group, but I do want to point out a few things. First of course was the lack of quality after DDR Extreme. Making another mix just to show the competition they are still in the game isn't the way to hold the fans down. Additionally, it's a shame that ITG wasn't able to pull off that same quality but rather boost everyone's play abilities instead. After DDR took out ITG it attempted to go along a similar path and the players already superseded the game.

DTX was going to change all of this, or that was my aspiration atleast. Sure it was a bit of an honor to be working on an existing dancing game (even though ITG3 never got a proper release), and I do enjoy everyone crying over how difficult my work was. But it was time for a change. I am sick of the community AAA'ing or Quadstarring all these songs just because you have some 16th note runs for 180BPM. There was no identity to the work out there, but the work in DTX did have the same aesthetic qualities of DDR, with the difficulty of ITG.

I regret that I don't believe I will be releasing the work from DTX that was redone after the first leak and other files afterward. If you want to contact the step artists who worked on the game, that'll be up to their discretion if they would like to release their work.

Anyway, the upload to bemanistyle is finished and so am I with step writing for now. To those who enjoyed my work, I thank you. To those who didn't understand my work (read: disliked it), I have a feeling you might enjoy something I've done without realizing whodunit.

Enjoy: V^3 (Hello World) - ZigZaG HACKER

Myspace still isn't fixed yet but maybe it's a good thing that I stay away from it. Nothing is really happening for the better over there.

I had a pretty good day yesterday, I went to the usual pizza place in town and talked with a good friend of mine. Then I went to the city to hang at D&B for the rest of the day. It's warmer than my apartment and because the SuperBowl was on, time sort of stopped for everyone. So the workers didn't care much about working which basically meant more time to hang out with them. I gave Meg a tip for no reason and in return she ended up giving me a birthday cake and sang with some of the other servers. Sorry Meg, birthday is in December. I only ate half of the cake before giving it to Osh.

I left there and went to the diner to wait for the bus home. I cleaned my apartment and did a bit of laundry. Took care of some other work and now I'm about to get ready to go to UPS. I hope there's some good news about the panel that needs to be scheduled.

I have a lot of step work to review also, I going to try to do it this week and next week. I think I going to need to scrap a few charts as well after doing a quick look earlier today. I'm going to stay away from writing my manuscript until the 19th (Monday). I think after getting back into the step work I'll have some more drive to work on it.

I would usually be posting to my myspace but I can't log-in and they just e-mailed me back with the same generic "clear your cookies" message that they use to for the regular idiots. I e-mailed them back with the specific error message again, hopefully I'll get a real reply or better yet a fix.

Last night was a disappointment. I had the intentions of figuring out nightlife last night and it wasn't to my benefit. I did some research the night before for different places, specifically looking for Dance Club at clubplanet.com and a whole slew of places turned up. I was specifically looking for places that play Dance, Hip-Hop, and some other things thrown in there. I made a list and mapped the places out.

So Saturday night came, and the main objective was to check out a place called Element. But first I wanted to see where some of the other places were. The first stop was Level V underneath the Vento restaurant at 9th and 14th St. I was there too early to go inside but there was supposedly no cover, so I figured it would be a good last resort.

Next, I tried to head downtown but the trains were super-stupid so I decided to hit a McDonald's bathroom and go straight for Element. Element is a former bank, and it looks prominent from the outside. They were late opening for 10:00pm (more like 10:25pm) I found out there was a $20 cover even though my research showed there wasn't any. Apparently you had to be on the guestlist for that. No big deal and quick coat check and I was in.

Inside Element was great. I was real impressed by all the space there was, lots of different floors to dance with really great music. However, as people started to walk in I got to see what the place attracted. To put it bluntly, it was a mass amount of gay hipsters from over the bridge in Brooklyn. Now, this didn't bother me because I figured it's not a gay club, there's other non-homosexual couples hanging around. Though, somewhere around midnight was the icing on the cake. A guy walks out with gelatin shots. Under normal circumstances this also wouldn't bother me, but the problem was... he was topless. At that point I said to myself 'get coat, find exit'.

Now mind you, I'm not afraid of gays. But what it really comes down to is that I don't want to give them the wrong impression. I dress metrosexually and I can dance well, but I'm for the women. So I'm not going to go and dance and entertain unless the crowd is my type of crowd. Anyway, I went back to Level V and found out at that point they were only taking reservations so I couldn't get in there. I went home after that, just barely missing the bus. So I went to the T-Bone diner.

Mike is the manager for the night shift at the T-Bone for most weeknights and weekend. So, once I get off the train and it's late and I might have missed my bus (or sometimes I'm there too early for it) I'll talk to him about things. Mike is also gay, reinstating that I don't have any fear in them. He's good people and even though I was really distraught about the experience that night, he understands where I'm coming from. It's good to have someone to vent to face-to-face like that at such a late time of the night.

Anyway, Angel is supposed to come over today to practice dancing again. If he doesn't pull through, I think I might take a look at a few more dance clubs tonight. I have 3 more on the list. And if these places don't make the cut, I'll be at a loss to the club scene.

Ok so I know I had that whole blog post about how I almost lost my phone last night. Well, now I actually did lose it and had to buy another one. Therefore, if you have my number I'd like you to call me at some point after noon EST and let me get at it. You can also respond by e-mailing me with your number and I'll get it just the same. fauxserious at gmail

Thanks!

My outline is 4 pages long and over 1,000 words.

This should be book ready.

No love to Livejournal, I've been writing in my myspace blog but I still use this thing to read the happenings of other people, and it's easier to read all these things at once than it is on myspace.

Anyway, my birthday was the Wednesday that just past, and a big thanks to everyone who either remembered it or knew how to look out for it using the internet. I got some cool stuff from my parents, and bought some things for myself recently as well.

Work is alright, the promotion process is going forward and hopefully finishes in my favor. It'll be a real help for me.

The stuff I'm doing in my spare time is pretty much DDR-related still. Phrekwenci is alive again, just not in all forms. I figured if I want to be a bigger part of the DDR community as it grows I need to be more accessible to the people who are interested in making it better. The dissertation is still in the works, as well as some other projects involving my expertise.

And last but not least, girls are dumb. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.
